a very special note from Kira Lynn Cain:

Welcome to my website, thank you for being here...

The Ideal Hunter was produced by Sean Coleman at Closer Recording studio, and it is his sonic vision and talent that made the album what it is. Without his dedication, hard work, and heart, you wouldn't hear a thing. From his work with the Sunshine Club to Paula Frazer and Tarnation to Kelley Stoltz to Jeffrey Luck Lucas to Vetiver to Charles Atlas to the Harbours to Tom Heyman to Jesse DeNatale, Sean Coleman is a natural force in the musical and aural world. It is my great honor to have worked with him and to call him a friend.

Special thanks to John Murry, who first heard these songs and invited me to be a part of first his and Bob Frank's great, huge, deadly music and later, Evangeline Records. Special thanks to Jeffrey Luck Lucas, who was the very first musician ever to perform with me, or to hear my private songwriting- he is the beautiful composer who wrote the string parts and sang and played guitar and bass on this album. His own songs haunt my memory, and his spirit is seen in all of these songs. Special thanks to Tim Mooney and Nate Cavalieri - whose unrivaled, truly phenomenal musicianship, honesty, creativity, and generosity truly make every song what it is, and make the whole a greater than its parts. Thank you so much, to every amazing musician, past, present and future: Heather Vorwerck, Dave Fleminger, James Lee Michelson, Brother Jack Elder, Safa Shokrai, John Hofer, Marc Dantona, Jamin Barton, Bone Cootes, and Mike Burns. You all make music making a pleasure, and more deeply, an honor.
